Hydraulic cylinders are actuation devices that utilize pressurized hydraulic fluid to produce linear motion and force.
TESTMER's ram cylinders are used only for lifting (dump ore tipped trailors) and are installed only in a vertical position so that the load they are lifting will retract the ram cylinder when hydraulic pressure under the ram is released. The ram of the cylinder has no piston; the bottom of the ram acts as the piston. Rams are used in applications where cylinder rods could bend due to heavy side loads the machine is not designed to handle.
